Job description

Summary

Quality Control Technician tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products in Ankeny, West Des Moines, and Ames.

EXCELLENCE

  • Interprets formulas and confers with management to determine quality standards.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions and performance characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with staff and vendors.

Mathematical Skills

  • Proficient in basic math operations and able to calculate ratios, percentages, and interpret data graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Able to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; effectively solve problems in routine or complex situations.

Other Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel Database software, Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Valid driver's license
  • DOT Certification AGG Tech preferred
  • DOT Certifications PCC 1 & PCC 2 Required
  • ACI certification, Field Tech Level
