Role Description
The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for leading daily quality control operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant test execution in support of Form Energy's manufacturing and product development goals. This role provides direct supervision to Quality Technicians, ensures adherence to approved work instructions and test methods, and partners closely with Production, Design Engineering, and Product Quality Engineering to support continuous improvement and product integrity.
What you'll do:
  • Test Execution & Quality Oversight
    • Ensure all quality control testing is executed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with approved work instructions, control plans, and test methods.
    • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to test failures, deviations, or nonconformances.

    Team Leadership & Task Delegation
    • Provide day-to-day supervision of Quality Control Technicians.
    • Assign and prioritize daily workloads to ensure testing demand is met without compromising quality or safety.
    • Balance resources across core and specialized testing to support production schedules and development timelines.
    • Act as the first point of escalation for technical or execution-related issues within the QC team.

    Training & Competency Management
    • Ensure all Quality Control Technicians are trained and qualified to perform assigned test methods in accordance with approved work instructions.
    • Maintain and audit training records to ensure they are current, accurate, and audit-ready.
    • Deliver hands-on training to technicians on core and specialized test methods, ensuring consistent execution and understanding.

    Continuous Improvement & Compliance
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to test efficiency, standardization, and data quality.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and quality excellence within the QC team.

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality and/or volume manufacturing leadership
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • A positive and flexible leadership style with a focus on organization and risk-based thinking
  • Experience using industry standard metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, multimeters, CMMs, optical comparators
  • Experience using test equipment such as tensile testers, wire harness testers, PCBA electrical checkout machines, and ultrasonic testers
  • Experience working and auditing to industry standards including ISO 9001 or equivalent, NADCAP, ASTM test standards, IPC 610/620/J-STD-001, etc.

Where you'll work:
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
