Quality Control Supervisor

 

FULL-TIME


Day Shift (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM)


9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off)

JIMS Machining is an established ISO 9001 certified manufacturing company that has been machining for over 50 years. We operate a progressive, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with advanced, modern Quality Control equipment in two separate labs. We are a leader in the V-Twin aftermarket industry, producing high-performance parts, tools, transmissions, and engines distributed worldwide, while also manufacturing precision machined components for a variety of other industries.


We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining product quality, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015  standards, and supporting production through effective communication, organization, and continuous improvement.


The ideal candidate enjoys working on the shop floor, leading by example, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with multiple priorities. This position requires someone who can balance quality responsibilities with team leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration with production.

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections of machined parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection instruments.
  • Operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Program a CMM (preferred but not required).
  • Identify nonconforming products and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate inspections with production to meet changing priorities and production schedules.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support quality personnel while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

Job Specifications:

  • Previous quality inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment is required.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection tools.
  • Experience operating a CMM is required; CMM programming experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
