Safety & Sustainability ManagerMedina, OH | Full-Time | Exempt

At Sandridge Crafted Foods, safety is more than a priority—it is a core value. We are seeking an experienced and passionate EHS & Sustainability Manager to lead workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainability initiatives across our manufacturing operations.

This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategies that strengthen safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce organizational risk, and advance sustainability objectives. The EHS & Sustainability Manager partners closely with Operations, Human Resources, and site leadership to drive measurable improvements in employee safety, environmental performance, and operational excellence.

What You'll DoSafety Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead and manage company-wide Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) programs.

  • Establish, monitor, and drive safety goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and implement systems that reduce risk, prevent incidents, and improve workplace safety performance.

  • Drive a culture of safety ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

  • Partner with leaders across departments to integrate safety into daily operations and decision-making.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Conduct safety audits, assessments, and inspections to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.

  • Maintain safety policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Provide leadership recommendations based on safety data, trends, and performance analysis.

Workers' Compensation & Employee Support
  • Oversee workers' compensation programs and support case management activities.

  • Partner with Occupational Health providers and Human Resources to facilitate employee care and return-to-work programs.

  • Support transitional duty and injury management programs designed to reduce costs and improve employee outcomes.

  • Monitor workers' compensation trends and implement strategies to reduce claims and associated costs.

Leadership, Training & Culture
  • Coach, mentor, and develop safety and sustainability personnel.

  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on safety expectations and best practices.

  • Lead training initiatives that build organizational capability and reinforce a strong safety culture.

  • Facilitate safety committees and cross-functional teams to drive engagement and accountability.

  • Deliver safety performance reviews, updates, and recommendations to leadership teams.

Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship
  • Lead initiatives focused on waste reduction, recycling, reuse, and landfill diversion.

  • Support and drive utility consumption reduction efforts across company facilities.

  • Promote sustainability principles within operational decision-making and employee engagement programs.

  • Develop metrics and reporting processes that measure sustainability performance and progress.

  • Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance while supporting operational objectives.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Lead safety-related capital projects and improvement initiatives.

  • Analyze safety and sustainability data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Implement programs that improve operational performance, compliance, and employee engagement.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources, Quality, and leadership teams to support company objectives and continuous improvement efforts.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in:

    • Occupational Safety

    • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

    • Environmental Science

    • Industrial Safety

    • Or a related field

  • 3–5+ years of EHS, safety, sustainability, or related leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience leading safety programs and driving safety culture initiatives.

  • Experience managing regulatory compliance, audits, and incident investigations.

  • Experience supervising, coaching, or developing team members.

Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Certification.

  • Experience in food manufacturing or other regulated industries.

  • Experience managing multi-site safety programs.

  • Knowledge of workers' compensation administration and return-to-work programs.

  • Experience with sustainability reporting, environmental initiatives, or ESG-related programs.
