Job Summary
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for Flynn Manufacturing SLC. This role oversees and coaches a team ofl QC Inspectors while fostering strong working relationships with branch Manager and local department leaders. The position investigates in-shop and field-reported non-conformances, leads root cause analysis, and drives corrective actions to prevent recurrence. The QA/QC Manager represents the shop during third-party inspections and audits, conducts off-site and supplier inspections as needed, and ensures all SOPs, inspection methods, and measurement tools are current and effectively utilized. This role also develops and implements new SOPs to close procedural gaps and supports additional quality-related initiatives as assigned by management.
Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Manage the QA/QC Program of Flynn Manufacturing
โ€ข Manage and coach a team of multi-departmental QC Inspectors
โ€ข Interact and develop relationships with other branch QA/QC Managers as well as local department managers
โ€ข Investigate non-conformances found in the Shop and those reported from the Field
โ€ข Lead root cause analysis, recommend, and implement corrective actions to eliminate non-conformances
โ€ข Participate and represent the Shop in third-party inspections and audits
โ€ข Conduct off-site inspections and at suppliers' facilities when warranted
โ€ข Ensure that SOPs, inspection and measurement tools are utilized, maintained, and current
โ€ข Develop and implement SOPs to remove gaps in procedural compliance
โ€ข Perform other activities that may be assigned by your Manager
Requirements
โ€ข 4+ years in a QC Management role within a manufacturing setting and backed by proven successes in managing a QA/QC department
โ€ข Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in a fast-paced, deadline driven, and high energy work environment
โ€ข Displays and practices a positive attitude, decisive, and leads by example
โ€ข Not afraid of implementing changes and challenging the status quo
โ€ข Strong communication and listening skills - verbal and written
โ€ข Experience in various building envelope applications such as unitized curtain wall, architectural panel systems, and prefabricated structures is an advantage
โ€ข Above average knowledge in various Microsoft applications, knowledge of Autocad is an asset
โ€ข Knowledge and practice of Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement tools
