Established in 1945, Delta Industries aims to provide a solid foundation for economic prosperity and quality of life through construction materials solutions. We need are looking to grow our Technical Services team in the Jackson, MS area.


The Technical Services Representative is responsible for ensuring that ready-mix concrete products consistently meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role conducts field and laboratory testing, monitors production processes, and works closely with operations, dispatch, and sales teams to maintain product quality and support continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Product Testing & Analysis
  • Perform routine sampling and testing of raw materials, fresh concrete, and hardened concrete to ensure compliance with ASTM, ACI, DOT, and company standards.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory and field testing equipment.
  • Document, analyze, and report test results to operations and management.
  • Process & Quality Assurance
  • Monitor batching operations to confirm adherence to mix designs and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve product quality issues in collaboration with plant managers, drivers, and dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate mix design records and assist in adjustments as required by project specifications.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all quality procedures comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT requirements.
  • Maintain detailed testing records, certificates, and quality documentation for customer submittals and audits.
  • Participate in external and internal audits of quality systems.
  • Customer & Project Support
  • Provide on-site technical support to customers, project managers, and contractors regarding concrete performance, placement, and curing.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to product performance and prepare corrective action reports.
  • Assist in training plant and field personnel on quality practices and testing standards.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce variability and enhance product performance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new testing methods, and regulatory changes.
  • Support research and development of new mix designs and specialty concrete products


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-4 years of quality control experience in ready-mix concrete or construction materials.
  • Certification(s) preferred: ACI Field Testing Technician - Grade I, ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician, DOT certifications (state-specific).
  • Strong knowledge of ASTM, ACI, and DOT testing standards and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and laboratory data management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in field and plant environments.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across operations, sales, and customer teams.
  • Related degree or Equivalent industry experience accepted.
  • Background check required

Working Conditions

  • Primarily field and plant-based role with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, heavy equipment, and construction sites.
  • Regular travel to plants, job sites, and customer locations.
  • Requires lifting of testing materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • May include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as project needs require.
