Summary:

The Production Manager coordinates Production workflow on the shop floor to ensure that all of the manufacturing of new products are completed per schedule, project requirements, and meet McKenzie Craftโ€™s strict quality assurance guidelines. A Millwork Production Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient production of high-quality millwork products. Their expertise in production processes, quality control, and team management is essential for the success of millwork manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement production schedules and plans, taking into account customer orders, materials availability, and production capacity.
  • Supervise and lead a team of millwork craftsmen, machine operators, and production workers. Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure a skilled and efficient workforce.
  • Monitor the quality of millwork products at various stages of production, ensuring they meet specified standards and customer requirements. Implement quality control measures and address any issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of raw materials, hardware, and supplies needed for production. Manage inventory levels efficiently to minimize waste and delays.
  • Optimize and refine production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor production costs and work towards minimizing expenses while maintaining quality standards. Track and report on budgetary performance.
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are followed in the production facility. Promote a culture of safety among the production team.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field or combination of education and experience required
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledgeable in architectural millwork and casework production methods and fabrication techniques.
  • Paperwork management of the submittal process including review of the architectural drawings, drafted shop drawings, layout conflicts through the RFI process, appliance/equipment coordination, and mockup samples.
