Purpose: The Manager, Quality Control is responsible for delivering quality oversight of aircraft maintenance to ensure the fleet is maintained to the highest standards, including full compliance with all General Maintenance Manual (GMM) policies and procedures, and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). This position is vital to the safety and airworthiness of our Customers and Crewmembers, and creates a "One Crew" and "Do the Right Thing" mentality for Quality Control (QC) crewmembers at all maintenance stations.

Responsibilities:

1) Superintend the Required Inspection Item (RII) program and authorizations to ensure compliance with CFR and Company manuals:

• Review discrepancy reports and authorized technicians/ inspectors lists to ensure the quantity of personnel authorized to perform RII meets company requirements.
• Ensures RII listing meets and exceeds CFR and company requirements
• Makes certain procedures, training and tooling is available to perform the RII process
• Monitor program content to ensure it is accurate and make changes to the manuals when required.

2) Ensure fleet airworthiness by managing the Weight and Balance program:

• Manage newly inducted aircraft to ensure the weight and balance of each aircraft is correctly calculated.
• For existing aircraft weighing process is completed per company manuals
• For all aircraft ensure changes to aircraft Empty Weight are recorded and tracked per company manuals
• Revise Weight and Balance Manuals as needed
• Monitor changing FAA regulations that may affect weight and balance including Advisory Circulars

3) Develop highly competent Tech Ops Crewmembers through initial and ongoing learning. Assure that appropriate training is made available to Tech Ops Crewmembers:

• Oversee and assist in the development of training content and the delivery of training to create intended competence/knowledge
• Revise manual processes to ensure they are efficient and current for the fleet
• Manage recurrent training 

4) Direct the Material Receiving Process to ensure serviceability of all materials purchased by the company

• Review company process and procedures to ensure the process is simple and efficient 
• Monitor workflow to ensure staffing levels are correct
• Review quarantine parts logs to ensure issues are resolved quickly.

5) Lead the Quality Control department crewmembers to ensure our highest standards for safety, airworthiness and regulatory compliance are always being met for both process management/ improvement and crewmember leadership

• Ensure quality staffing levels are adequate for the fleet size
• Monitor safety reports, delay and cancelations reports for quality escapes item.
• Perform Root Cause analysis to determine course of action to prevent future recurrence
• Liaison with FAA Inspectors to be transparent in an open and honest relationship
• Develop, revise, and implement processes and procedures to "Keep It Simple" and efficient for both our crewmembers and customers.

Requirements

• Must possess a current and valid Airframe and Powerplant License
• Must have at least 3 years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes with 10 or more seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station, 1 year of which must be as a Quality Inspector.
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the company uses.
• Experience managing on-time delivery of daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required by company manuals
• Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation and ability to learn others (IOSA, DOD, OSHA, Etc)
• Ability to author and revise efficient processes and procedures in company manuals
• Process mapping and process design (with a bias toward simplicity) 
• Project and Program management 
• Current and valid Driver's License with good driving record required
• Strong Communication skills capable of working with other crewmembers and Federal authorities.
• Strong critical thinking with an analytical approach to problem solving, and continuous improvement mindset
• Must demonstrate the ability to work through complexity to identify root causes and develop effective and simple solutions
• Ability to clearly instruct (teach)
• Ability to work cross-functionally, develop relationships, and motivate performance

• Must be able to move throughout the office or line maintenance environments for extended periods of time (up to 10-12 hours per day)
• Must be available for after-hours management (including weekends) of airline operational issues.
• Ability to work through multiple problems/solutions prioritizing and sequencing the execution of issues to manage and resolve them quickly and effectively
• Possible travel for training, deployment, or issue resolution up to 25%
• Ability to work in outdoor environment around aircraft in all climates.
• Ability to move 50 lbs. over a distance of 10 feet
• Comfortable and casual-dress business environment, with occasional requirement for full business attire for meetings or presentations
