They oversee the entire Quality Management System (QMS), direct inspection teams, and enforce regulatory compliance. They also supervise staff and oversee product development procedures to ensure that products meet quality and efficiency standards.

The QC Manager leads the plant's quality assurance operations, bridging the gap between customer specifications and production lines. They are responsible for driving a "zero-defect" culture, reducing rework, managing non-conformances, and ensuring every custom-built transformer is safe and highly reliable before shipping to the client.

Core Responsibilities

  • Testing & Inspection Oversight: Oversee incoming raw materials (e.g., core steel, copper winding wire, insulating materials), in-process assemblies, and final factory acceptance testing (FAT).
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and manufacturing processes adhere to rigorous industry standards, including ISO 9001, IEEE, ANSI, and IEC.
  • Defect Resolution & CAPA: Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when anomalies or customer warranty claims occur.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement teams to integrate quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate Quality Engineers, technicians, and inspectors to ensure consistent adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Audits & Documentation: Maintain QMS documentation and coordinate internal and external compliance audits.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Quality Management.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of quality assurance management experience, preferably within heavy manufacturing or electrical equipment (specifically transformers).
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of the transformer manufacturing process, including core stacking, winding, tanking, and oil processing.
  • Methodologies: Expert-level knowledge of quality tools like Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), Lean manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Certifications: ASQ certifications (Certified Quality Engineer - CQE, Certified Quality Auditor - CQA) are highly advantageous.
