Responsibilities
The Quality Engineer 2 is responsible for following the M.C. Dean Quality Control (QC) Program to achieve and verify quality expectations for a durable and reliable installation. The Quality Engineer 2 is responsible for overseeing field inspections to ensure work is in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Job duties and responsibilities: Document, Implement and Manage Quality Control Plan on the project.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Gather customer specific quality requirements, review all relevant governing reference material for development and implementation of project specific quality plan.
  • Create and maintain project specific quality plan and assure alignment between External and MMC Quality Plans.
  • Conduct Mutual Understanding Meeting with subcontractors.
  • Create and maintain Quality Control Tracking Log (QCTL) with planned and actual schedule for each of the three phases of quality control.
  • Create and maintain necessary project specific QC checklists.
  • Verify and status submittal approvals.
  • Facilitate and participate in Design reviews.
  • Maintain ongoing interface with client/client representative for issue resolution, reporting, improvements and audits.

  • Facilitate and coordinate inspections and audits with 3rd party inspectors.
  • Document tailored processes across the value stream using ISO, CMMI, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, PMBOK, ITIL and other internationally recognized process frameworks.
  • Identify technical and administrative controls and create rules, policies, and procedures for the implementation of controls.
  • Lead all activities involving quality assurance, compliance, audits, deliverables, and process improvement.
  • Conduct specific audits to measure the degree of adherence to documented policies and procedures.
  • Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Develop project scorecard on Quality Assurance and report to project and executive teams on the level of adherence.
  • Work on special process improvement projects to identify root cause and put in place corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • 2+ Years of experience with a Bachelors Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, with Industrial/Systems Engineering preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a background check
  • Working knowledge of USACE/NAVFAC 3-Phase Quality Control System.
