Quality Control Manager – Ready Mix Concrete

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 per year (DOE)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Saturdays as Required Based on Business Needs


Lead the Quality Control Department

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee all Quality Control operations for an established Ready Mix Concrete producer in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

This leadership role is responsible for managing laboratory operations, concrete mix designs, field quality, testing procedures, regulatory compliance, and a team of Quality Control Technicians. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Dispatch, Customer Service, and Estimating to ensure consistent product quality while supporting commercial, industrial, municipal, and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Ready Mix Concrete Quality Control Department.
  • Manage and develop Quality Control Technicians.
  • Review project specifications and recommend concrete mix designs.
  • Develop, submit, and maintain concrete mix designs.
  • Monitor concrete performance through laboratory and field evaluations.
  • Conduct and oversee aggregate testing and concrete testing in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and DOT standards.
  • Coordinate trial batches, material testing, and laboratory operations.
  • Analyze testing results and implement quality improvements.
  • Investigate customer complaints, jobsite issues, and concrete performance concerns.
  • Maintain laboratory certifications, equipment calibration, and testing records.
  • Partner with Operations, Dispatch, Customer Service, and Production to ensure quality products and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, industry regulations, and safety requirements.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Ready Mix Concrete or Construction Materials experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Concrete Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent Ready Mix Concrete Quality Control leadership experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience supervising Quality Control personnel.

  • Ability to maintain required ACI, OSHA, and MSHA certifications.
