The Document Control Specialist is responsible for managing all project documentation within a fast-paced, highly coordinated data center construction environment. This role ensures all drawings, submittals, RFIs, specifications, and turnover packages are accurate, version-controlled, and compliant with META and GC standards.
This role is critical to ensuring that field, engineering, and client teams are aligned using the most current project documentation.
Responsibilities
Document Control & Management
  • Maintain full control of all project documentation within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and/or client-required platforms
  • Manage and track:
    • IFC drawing sets, shop drawings, and as-built documents
    • Specifications, submittals, RFIs, ASIs, and change orders
  • Ensure strict version control, naming conventions, and folder structure compliance
  • Coordinate distribution of updated documents to field and project teams
  • Update Infralink with the latest project documentation for the use in manufacturing and on the project construction site.
  1. ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) Workflow Management
  • Administer and manage document workflows within ACC Docs and Build modules
  • Maintain:
    • Issue logs, version histories, and approval workflows
    • Drawing comparison tracking and revision histories
  • Ensure all documents are properly uploaded, categorized, and accessible
  • Support coordination between:
    • Engineering / VDC teams
    • Field operations
    • General Contractor and client teams
    • Trade Subcontractors (Mechanical, Electrical, & Connectivity)
  • Validate that all teams are working from the latest issued documents in ACC environments
  1. Submittal & RFI Management
  • Maintain and update the project submittal register and tracking logs
  • Coordinate submittal workflow from creation through approval and closeout
  • Track review cycles and enforce turnaround timelines
  • Ensure all deliverables meet client format and compliance requirements
  • Support procurement and engineering coordination tied to submittals
  1. Quality Control / QAQC
  • Perform detailed QA/QC checks on all outgoing document packages:
    • Verify correct revisioning and labeling
    • Ensure completeness of drawing sets and references
    • Identify inconsistencies prior to client/GC submission
  • Validate document packages align with project milestones (30/60/90/IFC)
  1. Closeout & Turnover
  • Compile complete turnover packages including:
    • As-built drawings
    • Test reports and commissioning documentation
    • O&M manuals and manufacturer documentation
  • Ensure documentation meets customer closeout standards and acceptance criteria
  1. AI-Driven Workflow Execution (MANDATORY)
  • Utilize AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ACC AI features, or equivalent) in daily workflows to:
    • Automate document tracking and status reporting
    • Perform document reviews (naming compliance, completeness checks, error detection)
    • Generate logs, summaries, and reports (submittals, RFIs, issues)
    • Identify inconsistencies across document sets (drawings, specs, schedules)
  • Leverage AI to improve:
    • Efficiency of document processing
    • Accuracy of QA/QC reviews
    • Turnaround time for deliverables

Expectation:
Use of AI is a core part of the role, not optional. Candidates must be willing to adopt and continuously improve AI-driven workflows.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of document control experience in construction, preferably on data center or mission-critical projects with High School Diploma.
  • Direct experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or similar cloud based construction management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Submittal processes
    • Construction drawings and specifications
    • Construction Change Directives (CCD)
    • Architectural Supplemental Instruction (ASI)
  • Experience managing high-volume document environments across multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center projects or complex mission critical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with BIM/VDC workflows and model-based deliverables
  • Experience coordinating low voltage, electrical, and mechanical scopes
  • Prior use of AI tools in construction workflows
