Job description

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Laboratory Technician (COA) is responsible for preparing Certificates of Analysis for finished food products using data from physical, chemical, microbiological, and organoleptic testing. This role also supports product sampling, product evaluation and testing, and other Quality Control activities that help ensure safe, consistent food products.

Essential Functions

  • Support and promote food safety in all daily activities.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis using laboratory test data, verify that testing parameters meet customer specifications, and complete all required certificates in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Shipping and Customer Service to confirm order requirements and ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted on time.
  • Inspect and evaluate incoming spices and ingredients, in-process materials, and finished spice and seasoning products. Compare production samples with retained samples from previous batches to verify consistency.
  • Place non-conforming products on hold for evaluation, rework, or other follow-up actions as needed.
  • Collect samples using proper aseptic technique, as required.
  • Handle, use, and dispose of laboratory materials and equipment safely and properly.
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory files, records, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional departments.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor.
  • Follow all Elite Spice policies, procedures, workplace safety requirements, and food safety guidelines.
  • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
