Job description

Quality Control Technician

Vaxxinova US is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Willmar, MN.

About the role: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for assisting and supporting the overall quality program, to ensure sitewide compliance in production, testing, and distribution of veterinary biologic products, within guidelines set internally and by regulatory agencies.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of process clarity with direct management
  • Follow, SOPs and testing directions in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Utilize laboratory skills such as aseptic technique in a biosafety cabinet, bacterial plating, sterility testing, and cell culture.
  • Perform tasks in a sterile and/or aseptic environment as well as clean and maintain the aseptic environment
  • Interpret and manipulate details of department needs to plan for efficient material and time usage
  • Rapidly and accurately adjust to department needs in response to unplanned circumstances
  • Complete the necessary documentation, ensuring accurate and complete information
  • Follows good laboratory practices
  • Promote safety in all areas of work, professional courtesy, and a positive work environment within the company
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Familiar with aseptic technique.
  • Familiar with computer systems and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite applications as well as Adobe Suite and other database applications of intermediate to advanced level.
  • Competency with mathematics through algebra and in the metric system. Understanding of serial dilutions and log calculations is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
  • Communications skills to effectively work with teams, across departments, and outside vendors
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal & written instructions in English
  • Ability to work in a microbiology and virology laboratory and comprehend microbiology and virology techniques and language
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time; bending, twisting, and performing fine motor manipulations required
  • Ability to pass medical clearance/fit testing when required

Education and Experience

  • A.S. degree in a related field and 3+ years of related work experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1+ years of related work experience preferred
