ABOUT THE ROLE
The Ready Mix Quality Control and Operations Rover is a hybrid role responsible for maintaining product quality standards while providing essential operational support. This position ensures concrete products meet specifications through rigorous testing and provides general labor support to maintain efficient plant operations. The successful candidate will operate as a rover, moving between multiple plant locations and QC laboratories to provide coverage and assistance.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Quality Control (QC)
    • Collect samples of fresh concrete and aggregates according to company and industry standards (ASTM/AASHTO).
    • Perform routine field testing, including air content, slump, temperature, and unit weight tests.
    • Prepare and cure concrete test specimens for compressive strength testing.
    • Document all test results accurately in the company database and communicate deviations from specifications to the Plant Manager immediately.
  • Labor & Operational Support:
    • Assist Plant Operators with batching support, plant maintenance, and site housekeeping.
    • Handle materials and assist in equipment upkeep to ensure safe and organized work environments.
    • Provide manual support during high-demand production periods or during equipment maintenance shutdowns.
  • Mobility & Travel:
    • Essential Requirement: This position functions as a roaming support role. The individual will be required to travel frequently between various Ready Mix plant locations and QC laboratory facilities to assist with both testing requirements and operational labor needs as dictated by business volume and site demands.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively in a plant environment.
  • Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between assigned sites.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise testing protocols.
  • Willingness to learn and cross-train in both QC testing and plant operations.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
