Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Technician Supervisor
Department: QA
Direct Supervisor/Manager: Director of Quality Assurance
Backup Employee: Director of Quality Assurance
General Job Description:
Scheduled hours for this position can vary depending on the needs of the company at the time. Shifts are generally 9AM – 5PM Monday through Friday with occasional overtime on Saturday and Sunday.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Trains and coaches QC technicians in accordance to outlined essential functions in QC technician job description. Works with Director of Quality Assurance to provide additional training as needed for technicians
  • Schedules, supervises, trains, and supports QC Technicians
  • Assists QA Director with hiring, evaluating, and disciplining personnel
  • Reviews, verifies, maintains and documents SQF, HACCP and Pre-Operational/Sanitation records
  • Updates forms and SOPs as required, maintaining version history
  • Reviews on-hold materials with plant management and assists with timely dispositions
  • Assists with Food Safety/GMP quality related audit preparation
  • Responsible for QA final product and environmental sample shipment for laboratory testing and maintaining submittal documentation
  • Performs routine environmental monitoring in the manufacturing facilities with the QA Director’s guidance
  • Works with QA Director to outline quality checks and additional responsibilities for QC technicians to perform in new production areas.
  • Assists QA Director in approvals and releasing product, following our positive release policies.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement, food safety, environmental and quality programs
  • Other duties as assigned
MINOR DUTIES:
  • Print labels, batch records, & misc. other items when needed
  • Performs QC technician duties when needed
  • Gives GMP training to new hires & refresher training as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
HACCP Certification and at least 3 years QC food manufacturing experience
