This is an excellent opportunity to build on your laboratory experience in a professional, safety-focused environment with consistent Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM hours. About the Role: As a Contract Lab Technician, you will support daily laboratory operations by collecting and preparing samples, operating key analytical instruments, and ensuring accurate data entry into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

You will play a critical role in maintaining data integrity, equipment performance, and a safe working environment, enabling the team to deliver timely and reliable results. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine sample collection, labeling, and preparation according to established protocols and chain-of-custody requirements Operate laboratory instruments such as centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and related equipment to conduct tests and analyses Enter test data accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and verify results for completeness and correctness Conduct routine checks, basic troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance Maintain clean, organised workstations and properly store reagents, samples, and supplies Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and document all activities and observations in lab records and logs Adhere to laboratory safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, handling of chemicals, and waste disposal Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels and reporting needs for reagents, consumables, and equipment parts Key Requirements: 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory or similar technical environment Proven experience with sample collection, handling, and preparation procedures Hands-on experience operating common laboratory instruments (e.g., centrifuges, spectrophotometers) Proficiency in accurate data entry and use of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or similar databases Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on lab equipment Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely Solid understanding of laboratory safety practices and OSHA compliance requirements Availability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Desirable Skills: Experience in an industrial, environmental, clinical, or oil and gas-related laboratory Familiarity with quality control procedures and documentation in a regulated lab environment Basic knowledge of calibration and validation of laboratory instruments Experience working with standard laboratory documentation such as SOPs, batch records, and logbooks Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required) Additional vocational, technical, or college coursework in laboratory science, chemistry, biology, or a related field (preferred) Any relevant laboratory or safety training certificates (e.g., OSHA, lab safety, basic instrumentation) are an advantage If you are a detail-focused Lab Technician looking to expand your experience in a structured, safety-conscious setting, apply now to be considered for this contract opportunity.
