Position Summary
This position is accountable for all aspects of Quality Management. This includes responsibility for all management and technical related issues and the communication of Quality related matters, to ensure compliance with the company's standards of expectations and contract specific documents. This position is the chief liaison to customers regarding quality issues.ย  Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesย include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages and supports all QC personnel including, performance evaluations, training, and development to ensure a highly competent and engaged workforce.ย 
  • Fills out purchase orders and coordinate delivery of materials with project schedules.ย 
  • Implements a Quality Management System to ensure compliance with quality standards and/or contract specific documents that may include QC and QA inspection and testing programs, accredited lab facilities, and quality communication.ย 
  • Provides technical support for proposals, plants/materials, construction, sales, and estimating teams during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases of a project to ensure quality opportunities are optimized and all requirements are met.ย 
  • Conducts specification reviews, develop project QC/QA plans, generate material submittals, develop and review mix designs, review quality data and inspections, and manage QA/QC results to assure timely project success.ย 
  • Provides customer service to help provide customer satisfaction. This could include internal and external technical communication on materials, production, and/or construction processes.ย 
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with material suppliers, local public agency staff, customers, and local inspection and testing companies.ย 
  • Supports evaluation and implementation of new material technologies when applicable.ย 
  • Participates in and promote safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with all safety rules and regulations.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises field QC employees.ย  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:ย ย 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality Control, Construction Management, or related field; and
  • three to five years of experience in quality control; or
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory skills are helpful.

ย Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Prefer ACI certification, NDOT Certification. If not ACI or NDOT certified, will be required to become certified within a year from date of employment and maintain certification thereafter.ย 
  • Valid NE driver's license and be insurable under the company insurance program.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, and during busy season may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.
  • Computers skills are required for this position. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.ย  Will be trained and work with the Command programs. Maintain customer data base and assure information is up to date and accurate.ย  Assure tracking systems alert to future projects based on customer input.
  • Previous QC experience in a construction related industry is preferred.
  • Must have technical knowledge of materials and construction concepts.
  • Must be able to periodically lift and/or move 50 to 75 pounds.ย

  • Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources, people and projects.
  • Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines. The job requires a considerable amount of discipline to motivate and maintain a constant commitment to meeting goals and achieving results.
