OverviewAssists with lab coverage in support of deceased donor transplant programs.

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for overseeing HLA laboratory's quality assurance system that supports the transplant programs; primary responsibility of validation and implementation processes in collaboration with the HLA laboratory director; ensures regulatory compliance; staff training and competency assessment; and research and development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required 3 years of laboratory training or experience in clinical laboratory preferably histocompatibility, immunogenetics and/or transplantation immunology.
  • Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS); certification is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with document control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to retain confidential information.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization to influence participation in development, quality, and safety related programs/activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver results.
  • Ability to implement suggestions and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in managing HistoTrac and/or other laboratory information systems.
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing is highly preferred, but not required.
