Position Description

At Plote we bring expertise, quality, depth of resources, and cutting-edge equipment and technology together to deliver exceptional services in excavation, aggregates, asphalt paving, concrete paving, civil heavy engineering, sustainable materials, commercial development, environmental services, and snow removal.
Primary Function: The Asphalt QC Lab Managers are responsible for all incoming materials and outgoing materials produced with respect to their assigned plant. Test all required materials and report necessary information to all agencies in charge of inspection.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Confer with Asphalt QC Manager/Coordinator about mix changes to best achieve volumetrics and cost.
  • Works to ensure that all company safety policies are being followed by all individuals who are working in the lab.
  • Directs activities and schedules technicians for daily work assignments.
  • Perform daily production tests.
  • Responsible for yearly lab inspections, monthly R-18 lab and equipment calibration.
  • Responsible for lab equipment, maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for yearly plant calibration, documentation and submittal.
  • Creating job specific QC addendums.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with plant personnel regarding timing and placement for getting samples to achieve test results within specification.
  • Identifies quality problems and/or deficiencies, initiates documented action and verifies implementation of solutions.
  • Prepares and submits QC reports, following a defined procedure.
  • Maintains records of testing and informs managers, producers, and/or field engineers of testing results through the preparation of test reports, charts, and graphs.
