Job description

Join the Gaco team, a trusted name in building envelope solutions with a heritage dating back to 1955.

We're seeking a Quality Control Lab Tech who's ready to be part of a company committed to formulating everyday success for every customer through innovative, reliable products used to adhere, seal, and protect at every level of the building envelope.

Starting Hourly Wage: $25.75 Hourly + $1.00 Shift Differential

Schedule: 2pm -  10:30 pm Mon - Fri

ABOUT THE ROLE

The position will work closely with QC/manufacturing to maintain the highest level of quality for all products. Role and responsibilities will include performing QC testing, reviewing production tickets for accuracy, documentation of testing results, and other R&D/laboratory support functions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Adhere to and follow all safety rules.
  • Follow all Standard Work Instructions and Company Policies.
  • Maintain the 5S standard in the Quality Lab and Offices.
  • Perform work in a timely manner.
  • Perform analysis of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
  • Recommend batch corrections to ensure product conformity.
  • Alert supervision to product quality, process quality, or machine operation concerns.
  • Place non-conforming material on quality control hold for further review.
  • Accurately record testing results using appropriate quality control forms and systems.
  • Release finished goods in company systems.
  • Safely manage and handle hazardous materials/ waste as part of lab sampling.
  • Create and post basic product quality reports.
  • Scan and save quality records in quality control systems.
  • Other duties, including occasional production support, as assigned.

Additional Requirements: 

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • High School diploma, GED, or Equivalent Work Experience.
  • Chemical Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar.
  • Ability to read and follow English work instructions.
  • Ability to learn and use measurement tools.
  • Comfort in working on your own and to troubleshoot situations within the limits of your training.
  • Personal ability to be comfortable in the Quality role knowing that you are responsible for presenting accurate data and are not authorized to make decisions on the disposition of nonconforming product.
