A Seasonal Quality Lab Associate is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative tests on production line samples to verify product quality and compliance. Key tasks include analyzing test results, documenting findings, following standard operating procedures, and supporting consistent production standard in accordance with established Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma Preferred
  • Clean Criminal Background Check
  • 1 year of Quality Lab experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Must speak fluent english.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control and Process Control activities;
    Experience with the QIMS system;
    Experience with Leaf Point system;
    Basic computer skills;
    Strong teamwork skills;
    Demonstrates initiative in daily activities;
    Proactive and agile in executing operational tasks, following internal procedures and management guidance;
    Maintains consistent attendance and reliability;
    Promotes and respects Diversity and Inclusion;
    Supports and contributes to the 5S3R program;

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Technical and Operational Knowledge
  • Apply technical and operational knowledge to perform job duties effectively, including understanding equipment, processes, and standard procedures, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards while supporting overall operational efficiency.
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures and ensure full adherence.
  • Testing Performance

    -Perform operational tests as described in the manual for each subsection, covering all required tests and ensure they meet quality standards as per the JTI Quality Manual.
    - Conduct tests to determine characteristics such as stem length, percentage of lamina, stem, and foreign matter content (NTRM) using scales and laboratory equipment.
    -Record test results on appropriate forms and systems (QIMS).
    -Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area;
    -Dispose of waste generated in the section in the appropriate designated locations;

  • Quality

    -Adhere to company standards and guidelines regarding permitted materials within the manufacturing environment;
    -Maintains strict adherence to all quality standards by executing all testing with precision and consistency, ensuring full compliance with established procedures and global quality requirements.
    -Follow all NTRM prevention protocols.

  • EHS & ESG - Safety and Sustainability

    -Carry out activities in compliance with risk assessments, safety and environmental procedures, using required protective equipment and following company rules. 
    -Identify and report risks, promote a safe and sustainable workplace, and contribute to the company's ESG and sustainability goals.

  • Procedures
    -Perform activities in accordance with established standard procedures, ensuring documentation of control items and checklists is executed in compliance with the integrated management system.

    Perform various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager's request. Provide support during breaktime rotation as guided by management to meet departmental needs.
