Job description

Job Summary

The Quality Control Engineer will build fundamental skills while providing a valuable function within a cement facility that has a long history of innovation and improvement. One must work as a team member to maintain automated robotic laboratory, control quality aspects of the cement manufacturing process and assure quality of final product. This position will optimize consistent quality of final products, solving problems with quality processes, laboratory and general plant systems.

Compensation

Salary range is $75-85 DOE

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine analysis, control quality and maintain operation of the quality control and quality assurance systems
  • Assist other departments with projects ranging from design and implementation to financing and labor management via direction from Plant Engineer
  • Coordinate with Lab Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of quality control and plant systems
  • Uphold and work by the core value set: integrity, safety, accountability, teamwork, respect, quality and innovation
  • Provide and ensure effective preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and troubleshooting are carried out on all laboratory analytical equipment
  • Comply with and enforce governmental procedures, rules and regulations; comply with company policies and plant rules
  • Chemical and physical analysis on raw, semi-finished and finished materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education

BS Engineering, or equivalent Science degree

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Hands-on; mechanically oriented
  • Intern experience within a heavy industrial facility is preferred
Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
