Job-Type: Full-Time

Full-Time employees receive our comprehensive compensation package which includes 100% employer paid Medical insurance with by-up options for your dependents. The pay range for this position is $25.00-35.00 hourly, offers will be based on the successful candidate's experience.  

Role and Responsibilities

The Supervisors are responsible for implementing, under the direction of the Department Manager or General Manager for the satellite labs, the steps necessary to achieve the goals and objectives of their department or facility. Supervisors II and III take direct responsibility for technical leadership and the morale and development of the department staff. All Supervisors plan, coordinate and direct the department or lab operations so that analytical results are performed within holding times, meet appropriate quality and deliverable requirements, and meet client or project specific requirements.

  • Exercises general supervision of assigned staffs' day to day activities
  • Ensures staff follows established standard operational and safety procedures
  • Coordinates with Leads to schedule and assign responsibilities for department staff
  • Assists Leads in maintaining analytical schedule to achieve maximum production and customer satisfaction, especially ensuring that sufficient numbers of qualified personnel are employed to perform the volume of work
  • Assists the Leads in training staff on specific duties and tasks
  • Approves vacation and working schedules, as well as complete and review weekly timecards for all employees within required deadlines
  • Directs the orientation of new employees
  • Assists existing staff with career path development
  • Provides backup to Leads for review and release of analytical results against quality control
  • acceptance criteria, so that reliable and valid data is generated
  • Maintains adequate stock of service parts and supplies
  • Assists in troubleshooting analytical and instrumental issues
  • Ensure all staff timecards are submitted by Sunday night
  • Ensure all Staff complete their safety and IT training on time
  • Champions efforts to improve department morale
  • Provides manager with the information necessary to establish the need for salary adjustments and to document steps to rectify and improve substandard employee performance
  • Coordinates with the QA/QC department the performance, review, and corrective action steps in order to maintain department and lab certifications as well as client satisfaction
  • Maintains familiarity with the operations of equipment used in the department, and coordinates with Technical Services department for repair, maintenance, and enhancement of equipment
  • Establishes maintenance schedules and ensures that schedules are met with appropriate
  • documentation in the instrument and vehicle log
  • Coordinates with HR and Department Manager to respond to Staff Complaints / Morale Issues
  • Reviews resumes and confirms that personnel to be hired have the appropriate educational and technical background to perform the accredited tests that they will be performing
  • Assists the Department Manager with interviewing candidates for employment
  • Ensure all Staff complete their safety and IT training on time
  • Updates Department Manager on any instrument, TAT, HT, or Personnel issues

Education and Experience 

Supervisor: Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science, 5 Year's applicable experience
