Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet GAFCO Industries' quality standards and customer specifications. This role performs inspections throughout the manufacturing process, verifies machine parts entering and leaving production, and identifies defects before products are shipped to customers. The Quality Control Technician works closely with production, machining, and shipping teams to maintain consistent product quality and reduce rework and scrap.

  • This position is based in a manufacturing and industrial setting and requires regular interaction with production staff, machine operators, and supervisors. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and machine parts from vendors and suppliers.
  • Verify dimensions, appearance, and specifications against purchase orders, blueprints, and quality standards.
  • Document and report any non-conforming materials.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and supervisors regarding rejected materials.
  • In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)
  • Conduct routine inspections throughout the shop floor during production.
  • Monitor machining, assembly, and fabrication processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform dimensional checks using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Identify defects and communicate corrective actions to production personnel.
  • Verify that parts moving from one production stage to another meet quality standards.
  • Outgoing Quality Control (OQC)
  • Inspect finished parts and products prior to packaging and shipment.
  • Confirm products meet customer requirements, appearance standards, and functional specifications.
  • Ensure all parts are free of defects, damage, burrs, scratches, and cosmetic imperfections.
  • Approve or reject products for shipment.
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.

  • Complete inspection reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports.
  • Track quality trends and recurring issues.

Job Requirements
