Job description

Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description

The Quality Technician serves as the shift’s quality subject-matter expert, patrolling production areas to evaluate product quality, collect samples, verify specifications, and communicate any deviations to operators and supervisors. This role supports food safety and regulatory compliance by recommending corrective and preventive actions, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring that products consistently meet established quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed inspection reports that accurately document product quality and test results.
  • Inspect products throughout the production process to ensure they meet defined quality and food safety standards.
  • Verify compliance with internal company requirements as well as all applicable Federal and State regulations.
  • Ensure all testing and inspection equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning correctly.
  • Identify, document, and report quality issues, anomalies, or nonconformances to supervisors and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Compile test data, analyze results, and prepare clear, concise quality reports for review by leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality control processes and contribute ideas for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Apply good documentation practices to maintain accurate, organized, and compliant quality records.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams in a GMP environment to reinforce quality and food safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • 1+ year of experience as an inspector or quality technician in a food lab or food production environment (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in quality assurance, quality control, and quality inspection within a GMP environment.
  • Knowledge of food inspection practices and food production quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts to support measurements, calculations, and data analysis.
  • Excellent visual attention to detail to identify defects, deviations, and nonconformances.
  • Advanced organizational skills to manage multiple inspections, tests, and documentation tasks.
  • Experience drafting reports and compiling data into clear, structured formats.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical information, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working as a Quality Inspector or Quality Control Technician in a food production setting.
  • Exposure to food safety programs and quality systems within a chocolate, confectionery, or similar food manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment that requires strong teamwork and communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement improvements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
