Job description

Position Summary

Quality Technician is a trusted subject matter expert in analyzing quality of products and processes. Quality Technician will be responsible for providing support to the Operations team in complaint investigations, corrective actions, risk management, and problem solving. Quality Technician shall maintain knowledge of products and processes as required to support day-to-day operations and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Functions

  • Must be knowledgeable in understanding product drawings for inspection purposes.
  • Experience in interpreting and using precision measurement equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task in support of receiving, panel line, trim, and final inspection.
  • Prepare worksheets in support of production.
  • Contributor for Material Review Board.
  • Recommend measures to prevent recurrence of defects.
  • Support Operations team as required.
  • Analyze data for improvements and trends.
  • Responsible for maintaining calibration program.
  • Supports continuous improvements projects.
  • Familiar with a standard non-conformance process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • An associate degree and/or two years of relevant experience.
  • Position requires a High School diploma.
  • Green or Black Belt Certification (not required)
  • CQT / CQI (not required)
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001/14001/45001/37301, FM, UL, AC473 (preferred)
  • A passion for problem solving.
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and Outlook.
  • ERP/MRP (SAP)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with extreme temperatures and some outdoor exposure is possible.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to use tools, equipment, machinery, etc.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise environments, chemicals used in the process, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.
