Job Title: QC Inspector โ€“ AOI

Job Function: Manufacturing Quality

Job Summary:

The QC Inspector โ€“ AOI operates the AOI machine, performs quality inspections using AOI, and provides AOI support. Reports to Quality Engineering Manager and is located in Newark, CA

Primary Job Responsibilities

1. Operate the AOI

  • Responsible on the entire AOI operation/line support activities
  • Review AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of component placement and solder joint defects
  • Work closely with the processing and engineering teams to improve visual defect yields

2. Perform AOI related quality inspection tasks

  • Inspect components or feature chips, ICs, joints, text, connectors, etc., using the AOI.
  • Inspect PCBAโ€™s and to IPC-A-610 standards, using magnification aids.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of material (BOMs), MPI, ECN, Deviation and other manufacturing documentation related to inspection.
  • Load AOI programs per instructions
  • Perform AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement, and solder joint defect

3. Support engineers and production operators with equipment training, data collection and system evaluations

  • Assist engineers in data collection and engineering evaluations
  • Document defects
  • Inspect per IPC-A-610 standards using a microscope
  • Support improvement initiatives and participates actively to improve work environment (5S)

Other duties and responsibilities related to AOI Support and Production as assigned

Required Education Experience:

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience operating AOI equipment
  2. High School Diploma
  3. IPC-A-610 Certified
  4. Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 & ESD
