Job description

Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector II is responsible for performing inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This position utilizes precision measuring equipment, interprets technical documentation, supports quality system activities, and assists in identifying and resolving quality issues. The Quality Control Inspector II serves as a resource to production personnel and may assist in training less experienced inspectors.
Essential Job Functions
  • Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Verify product conformity using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and inspection equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Accurately document inspection, testing, and measurement results.
  • Identify and document nonconforming product and ensure proper segregation and disposition.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities for quality issues.
  • Maintain inspection records and controlled documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment prior to use and assist with calibration record maintenance.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Communicate quality concerns and inspection results to production, engineering, and management teams.
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
  • Train and mentor Quality Control Inspector I personnel as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in a technical or manufacturing-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
  • AS9102 First Article Inspection experience preferred
  • Visual acuity, color recognition, and depth perception necessary to perform inspection functions
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques and quality assurance principles.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and quality documentation systems.
  • Experience with ERP systems, calibration systems, or similar quality systems preferred
