Job Summary

The Quality Control Inspector will use a variety of QC Inspection tools while performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of Steelhaus products. The Quality Control Inspector will coordinate with other departments including assembly, manufacturing and shipping/receiving.


Position Details

  • Status: Contract
  • Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:00am
  • Location: Calgary, AB (NE area)


Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Inspection

  • Prepping equipment prior to inspection.
  • Create documentation to aid the inspection process.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform first article inspections on all product runs.
  • Identify and segregate discrepant part and notify Manager.

General Labor

  • Performing routine housekeeping around the Shop.
  • Manual & mechanical lifting & moving equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Picking, sorting, or taking inventory of shop.
  • Conducting pre-use inspections of mobile equipment.
  • Operating pallet jack.
  • Use of hand, power & pneumatic tools.

Office Duties

  • Interaction with employees, photocopying, printing, etc.

Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience

  • Able to read and understand part drawings and a general knowledge of GD&T.
  • 2+ Years in a similar role.
  • Experience using a variety of precision measuring tools.
  • Understanding of the imperial system.
  • Experience with CMM is considered an asset.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office).
