Job Description
About the Team: The Supplier Quality Engineering team at ZF Axle Drives in Marysville, MI plays a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of axle systems delivered to Stellantis. This team works closely with a global supplier base to maintain and continuously improve quality standards, proactively driving corrective and preventive actions. They lead investigations into supplier-related quality issues, collaborating cross-functionally to identify root causes and implement robust solutions that protect both production and customer satisfaction. With a strong focus on accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement, the team supports ZF's commitment to delivering high-quality axle products in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
What you can look forward to as a Supplier Quality Engineer:
  • Responsible for the review and approval of Supplier PPAP's for new components or components with product/process changes together with the responsible Commodity Supplier Quality Engineer.
  • Responsible to prescribe receiving inspection characteristics and frequencies, forwarding these requirements to QSE who will have ultimate edit authority and responsibility to release to Dimensional Lab.
  • Responsible to ensure supplier is complaint to ZF QD83 during serial production.
  • Responsible for corrective actions with Supplier due to quality issues including 8-d closure and verification.
  • Responsible to review Supplier deviation requests for serial production components with MRY production, quality and engineering. Provide deviation request disposition back to Supplier.
  • Responsible to enter Supplier Nonconformance Costs (SNCC) for divisional tracking in accordance with ZF Group Directives.
  • Responsible to submit vendor deductions as received by the plant departments to accounting for processing.
  • Responsible to ensure supplied components on MRB hold are processed in a timely manner.

Your profile as a Supplier Quality Engineer:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Other Bachelor level degrees may be considered in lieu of engineering degree with significant, applicable experience).
  • 3+ years of related supplier quality automotive experience.
  • Proven track record of exceptional supplier management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs and MS-Office.
  • Advanced experience and demonstrated ability to apply APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA and Control Plans according to IATF 16949 according to SQE qualifying matrix.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and methodologies (e.g.: 8Ds, Shainin Red X, Six Sigma).
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of production and operations systems, purchasing, and project management and technical engineering skills and the ability to apply to work.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for sponsorship.
