Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Engineer to join one of the top construction management firms on a mega-project in the Albany, NY area. The Quality Control Engineer will primarily be responsible for ensuring that all work performed on the project meets the required quality and compliance standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Quality Control Manager with all project-related quality control and assurance tasks.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with project quality standards across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural scopes of work.
  • Perform daily field inspections to verify work is completed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Work closely with field staff to collect, track, and maintain project-related quality documentation and data.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party inspectors to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
  • Review material deliveries, submittals, inspection reports, and testing documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in identifying, documenting, and resolving non-conforming work and quality deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC records including inspection logs, deficiency reports, testing results, and turnover documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate quality-related issues to project management and field teams.
  • Support punch list activities and project closeout efforts to ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout all phases of construction.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA safety standards and project-specific safety requirements while performing quality control activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant construction experience working on complex building projects.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and trades.
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products. Experience with Procore is preferred but not required.

Salary: $100,000 - $135,000
