Job description

Position Overview
The Quality Control Technician position is responsible for providing inspection, testing services, and documentation of product for plant facilities. This position is also responsible for evaluating data necessary for adjustments to mix production to ensure compliance for all applications and projects.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Develop mix designs for product to customer or engineer's requirements using previous data and guidelines.
  • Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test product for the purpose of quality control.
  • Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate project.
  • Visit job sites, attend meetings and calls to customers promoting value-added products and to collect market and job information.
  • Follow quality control plans and guidelines as assigned.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and perform general cleaning of work area.
  • Liaises among customers, sales, and operations to ensure internal and external customer's needs are met.
  • Advise upper management on product development issues arising from product problems identified through technical support calls with customers.
  • Complete, maintain, and process pertinent paperwork and records.
  • Follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.

Requirements
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain DOT certifications required to test materials as required by state regulations, IDOT/NDOT and ACI Level 1.
  • One year of experience in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved concrete projects and can use such tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to read, write, and accurately perform basic mathematical functions including adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess knowledge of Company policies and procedures, including safety.
  • Must consistently produce efficient, accurate work product.

Work Requirements
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license.
  • Must pass post-offer employment drug testing, physical, background check, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
