Job description

Paradigm is seeking a Hands-On Quality Control Supervisor to support our industry leading client in Electronics Manufacturing. This position is designed for an experienced electronics quality professional who can perform advanced inspections, coordinate daily quality activities and serve as a technical resource for other inspectors.
This is not a desk-only management position. The Quality Control Supervisor will remain actively involved in inspecting SMT and through-hole assemblies, operating AOI and x-ray equipment, completing first-article inspections, and resolving quality or documentation issues.

Type: 6-month contract to hire
Pay Rate: $22–$30/hr.

As a QualityControl Supervisor, you will:

  • Perform advanced inspections of SMT and through-hole assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 2 and Class 3 standards.
  • Help coordinate daily inspection priorities based on production and shipping schedules.
  • Review assembly drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and customer documentation.
  • Operate and program Automatic Optical Inspection equipment.
  • Operate x-ray inspection equipment.
  • Perform internal and external first-article inspections.
  • Serve as a technical resource for quality inspectors and assist with training or troubleshooting.
  • Review inspection results and help ensure quality records are complete and accurate.
  • Identify, document, and escalate recurring defects, process concerns, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Communicate quality issues to production leadership, engineering, and other appropriate team members.
  • Participate in production meetings and support quality and process-improvement efforts.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is operated only by properly trained or certified employees.


Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; related college coursework is preferred.
  • At least five years of electronics, printed circuit board, or manufacturing quality experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Advanced experience in inspecting SMT and through-hole assemblies.
  • Experience operating and programming AOI equipment.
  • Experience operating X-ray inspection equipment.
  • Experience conducting internal and external first-article inspections.
  • Previous lead, mentoring, training, or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and technical work instructions.
  • Experience using calipers, volt-ohm meters, and other inspection tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify electronic components and component part numbers.
  • Ability to work as a hands-on supervisor in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to learn and follow LEAN manufacturing and ISO 9000 processes.
  • Ability to comply with ITAR requirements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and accurately distinguish between colors and small components.
