Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position
The QC Inspector 2 is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished products meet the required quality standards and specifications as defined by the Quality Management System (QMS). This position plays a critical role in upholding Dexter's commitment to delivering high-quality products by conducting thorough inspections and collaborating to address quality concerns.

An employee in this position will perform tasks directly related to:
• Conduct comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections of aerospace, medical, semiconductor, and related components and assemblies to verify compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and Dexter specifications
• Perform and approve first piece inspections in alignment with internal quality procedures
• Accurately compose customer documentation packets in accordance with Dexter TF requirements
• Utilize a wide range of precision measuring instruments-including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, optical comparators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)-to verify part dimensions.
• CMM operation experience with CALYPSO and MCOSMOS software is required
• Perform thorough audits of all in-process documentation and Epicor ERP transactions to ensure accuracy and traceability
• Accurately document inspection results within the company's quality systems, adhering to all established work instructions and quality protocols
• Identify and manage non-conforming materials by tagging, documenting, and placing items into quarantine while collaborating with QC leadership for resolution
• Provide support to other QC Inspectors by assisting with routine inspection tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while actively practicing 5S workplace organization principles.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the company's quality objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in quality, manufacturing, or engineering is preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in quality control inspection, preferably within aerospace or medical device.
• Advanced in the use of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators
• Hands-on experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs); with MCOSMOS and/or CALYPSO software preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems
• Working knowledge of ERP systems; Epicor experience is a strong plus
• Experience with first article inspection, non-conformance reporting, and in-process auditing.
• Expertise with AS9102 and Net inspect a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting a collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively across departments including Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain.
Hourly Range: $24-26
