Job description

Kent Homes which is Atlantic Canada's largest builder of modular homes is seeking a talented Engineering Designer with residential design experience to join our Engineering department!

At Kent Homes, we are committed to excellence in building and design. As an Engineering Designer, you will work alongside our engineering team to develop production drawing packages for a diverse range of products, from creative home designs to commercial projects.   • Education- Engineering Technology Diploma (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience- 2-5 years of architectural drafting and Canadian Building Code experience, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.

  • Technical Skills- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, Revit is a requirement; comfortable with MS Office Suite.

  • Communication Skills- Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.

  • Technology & Innovative Mindset- Demonstrated interest in leveraging technology to improve design processes. A willingness to learn, evaluate, and adopt new software tools, extensions, and automation solutions that increase productivity and enhance design quality.

Salary Range: $53,000 - $74, 500

  • Design Coordination- Collaborate with various departments and clients to ensure smooth release of electrical and mechanical designs.

  • Project Influence Analysis- Evaluate how design choices affect performance and functionality in production.

  • Regulatory Compliance Evaluation- Assess and advise on environmental, legal, and regulatory issues impacting engineering projects.

  • Bid Package Support- Assist in preparing residential and commercial bid packages.

  • Detailed Design Process Leadership- Lead the design process, utilizing BIM and Revit to produce detailed specifications and coordinate design information. Continuously explore and leverage software capabilities, extensions, and emerging design technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and drawing package generation.

  • Process Improvement - Identify opportunities to streamline design workflows and implement best practices that enhance productivity, standardization, and collaboration across the organization.
