Job description

QA/QC Inspector

Location: Greater Raleigh area, NC | Travel: potential for daily local travel

Job Summary:

Oversee and enforce InServ’s QA/QC policies on assigned projects while planning, coordinating, and documenting weld and material inspections in compliance with contract and regulatory standards. As a QA/QC Inspector, you’ll play a key role in upholding quality and precision across complex high‑purity and biopharmaceutical construction projects, thriving in fast‑paced field environments and ensuring work is done right the first time.

Per diem may be available to qualified candidates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct daily field and/or fabrication facility surveillance inspections to verify compliance with contractual specifications, regulatory requirements, and InServ’s QA/QC policies and procedures.
  • Inspect materials, fabricated products, and installed equipment to ensure conformity with project standards and proper installation practices.
  • Accurately document and communicate inspection results, identifying nonconformances and recommending corrective actions. Track and follow through to ensure all issues are properly resolved.
  • Maintain detailed, timely inspection reports and daily quality logs, including photographic or video documentation in accordance with client privacy requirements.
  • Interpret project specifications and provide clear guidance to field personnel to ensure proper understanding and execution of QA/QC requirements.
  • Support the implementation and communication of contractual and regulatory quality procedures as directed by the QA/QC Manager or Supervisor.
  • Evaluate work for compliance and assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project teams to improve communication, monitoring, and overall quality performance.
  • Escalate QA/QC violations or potential stop-work conditions to project leadership, clearly explaining requirements and recommending corrective measures.
  • Provide training and guidance to subcontractors on quality standards and compliance expectations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Travel Requirements: <75% overnight travel; if local, daily travel

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or NDT Level II Visual Testing (VT) certification required, in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and endorsed by an ASNT Level III.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or advanced education preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Visual Testing (VT); related welding experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in biopharmaceutical or high-purity inspection environments is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction practices, including methods, materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Thorough understanding of QA/QC standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to contribute effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues before escalation.
  • Effective auditing capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to accuracy and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability and willingness to learn new software systems.
