About this Role

Probst Electric is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to join our growing team. This traveling position will support major utility infrastructure projects across multiple locations, with travel required as project needs dictate. This is a key position responsible for driving quality across our projects and ensuring that construction activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical utility and overhead line construction, along with experience managing quality assurance and quality control activities on large-scale construction projects. The QA/QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring work is completed in accordance with project specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes and standards, and Probst Electric's quality expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical construction professional who wants to play a critical role in the successful delivery of large-scale electrical infrastructure projects while working with an experienced team and supporting projects throughout the company's operations.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage QA/QC activities across electrical construction projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific QA/QC plans and procedures.
  • Perform inspections, audits, and quality reviews to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Review project documentation, testing records, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Identify quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and monitor resolutions.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and deficiency tracking through resolution.
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, engineers, and field personnel to maintain quality standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, inspectors, engineers, and other project stakeholders regarding quality requirements.
  • Provide QA/QC guidance, training, and support to field personnel.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and prepare project quality reports.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons-learned programs.
  • Travel extensively to project sites as required.
What You'll Bring
  • 2 to 5 years of QA/QC experience in electrical construction, with a strong preference for overhead transmission or distribution line construction experience.
  • Hands-on experience with utility line construction, including transmission or distribution projects, is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical utility construction practices, project specifications, testing, and applicable industry standards.
  • Experience developing and implementing QA/QC plans and inspection procedures.
  • Experience with quality audits, documentation, non-conformance management, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project documentation systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work on remote project sites.
  • OSHA and/or other relevant safety and quality certifications are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
