Job description

The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for monitoring construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. The inspector performs daily field inspections, documents and tracks nonconforming work through resolution, witnesses testing and commissioning activities, maintains accurate inspection records, and coordinates with project stakeholders to support quality assurance throughout all phases of construction. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner. Experience with federal construction projects and familiarity with USACE/NAVFAC quality management procedures is preferred.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic construction management/document management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and quality management procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining professionalism and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and perform field inspections in active construction environments.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification preferred; CCM, PE, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
