Job Summary

Western Partitions Inc. (WPI) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manufacturing QA/QC Manager to lead day-to-day quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for managing QA/QC Inspectors, implementing quality standards throughout production processes, maintaining quality documentation and records within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and ensuring compliance with company quality requirements and customer specifications. The Manufacturing QA/QC Manager partners closely with the QA/QC Program Manager to establish manufacturing inspection plans, quality checkpoints, component verification requirements, final quality documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works collaboratively with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisors, and Training teams to embed quality expectations into standard work and support the successful execution of the company's quality management program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Leadership Team Management: Lead and develop QA/QC teams by driving quality standards, performance accountability, employee growth, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction across manufacturing operations.
  • Production Quality Oversight: Lead quality assurance and control activities across manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements while driving inspections, corrective actions, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Inspection Program Administration: Administer and standardize inspection programs by overseeing quality verification processes, managing nonconforming products, and ensuring products meet acceptance criteria and shipment readiness
  • Quality Systems Documentation: Maintain quality systems and documentation by ensuring accurate records, audit readiness, QMS compliance, and complete customer quality deliverables throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Training Workforce Development: Develop workforce quality capabilities by delivering training, onboarding, and coaching programs that ensure employees understand and consistently meet quality standards, inspection requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Work Instruction Process Development: Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to integrate quality standards, inspection requirements, and standardized work into manufacturing processes while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to resolve quality issues, reduce defects and waste, and enhance product quality and process performance through corrective and preventive actions.
  • KPI Management Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report quality performance KPIs to drive corrective actions, address performance gaps, and support continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with quality, operations, engineering, procurement, safety, and project teams to achieve production goals, maintain quality standards, and support operational planning and customer requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of manufacturing quality, quality assurance, quality control, or production leadership experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience supervising QA/QC personnel or quality teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems, inspection methodologies, and quality documentation requirements.
  • Experience developing inspection plans, quality checklists, and process verification standards.
  • Experience using ERP, MES, QMS, and manufacturing reporting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across operations, engineering, and quality functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting ISO 9001 implementation or certification efforts.
  • Data Center, Mechanical, Electrical, Modular Construction, or Manufactured Component experience.
  • Experience developing quality programs in high-growth manufacturing environments.
