Job description

Plymouth Rock Assurance is seeking an experienced and accomplished QA Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions through effective management of both automated and manual testing teams. The Senior QA Manager will have a proven track record in overseeing testing processes, utilizing automated testing tools such as Selenium, and managing test data effectively.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of QA automation engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through coaching, feedback, and technical mentorship.
  • Help evolve the QA organization toward modern quality engineering and automation-first practices.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable automated testing frameworks across UI, API, and backend systems.
  • Drive increased automation coverage for regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Champion modern testing practices, including CI/CD-integrated automation, shift-left testing, and test data management.
  • Partner with development teams to improve testability, reliability, and overall software quality.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and QA teams to translate requirements into comprehensive test plans and automated test scenarios.
  • Oversee functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing efforts across ongoing projects and releases.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics, including automation coverage, defect trends, test execution results, and release quality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, automation reliability, and overall SDLC quality practices.
  • Provide clear and transparent communication regarding testing status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on both automated and manual testing.
  • Proven experience managing testing teams, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent understanding of non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, and security.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Desirable knowledge includes experience in the insurance industry, familiarity with Jira, and exposure to DevOps practices.

Salary Range: $130,000 to $165,000 per year + bonus. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
