With an environment that encourages and assists each person in developing to their highest potential, a career at A-dec is incredibly rewarding.## OverviewThis position performs dimensional and visual inspection on incoming parts received from suppliers and those manufactured on site in order to prevent processing of nonconforming parts into inventory or production. Also determines the best way to inspect parts, ensuring consistency with supplier processes.**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Confirms that dimensions, finish type, and finish appearance of parts meet specifications on A-dec drawings and are within quality standards.* Performs inspection sampling and makes acceptance/rejection decisions per guidelines, maintains thorough and detailed records of all inspection history in an electronic history database, and communicates reject or quality problems to Buyers or manufacturing staff in accordance with established procedures.* Responsible for the proper care and storage of precision measuring tools and equipment, and submits tool requirements to the testing and calibration department for repairs and quarterly calibration.* Performs all first article inspections to evaluate suppliers' dimensional accuracy on initial runs, including molds and dies produced both in house and externally.* Acts as a resource on A-dec quality standards and serves as a company expert on inspection information for all parts received, both internally and externally.* Evaluates measuring requirements and designs/assists in designing inspection fixtures/gages when necessary or beneficial.* Performs some material handling duties, may be required to assist others with inspection procedures and techniques* Observes and practices all safety guidelines and maintains an acceptable dependability level.**Minimum Qualifications:**Generally requires 3-5 years of parts inspection, quality control inspection, and/or other relevant experience with expertise in the use of precision measuring tools along with the ability to improvise tool set-ups.Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and to design effective inspection fixtures and gauges.Understanding of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry is required.Must have the ability to obtain a competent level of knowledge of A-dec products, part locations on assemblies and appearance areas.
