Job description

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspecting secure customer products and fulfillment materials at the Howard Street facility. The Inspector performs incoming, in-process, and final inspections to make sure products are correct, complete, properly identified, and meet customer requirements before shipment.

3. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ยท Perform incoming inspections of secure products, customer-owned materials, packaging components, labels, cartons, and other job materials.

ยท Verify incoming materials against job documents, packing lists, bills of material, and expected quantities.

ยท Inspect materials for damage, incorrect items, mixed products, labeling errors, shortages, or other quality concerns.

ยท Perform line-start-up, in-process, and final inspections during fulfillment, assembly, kitting, packing, labeling, and palletizing operations.

ยท Read and follow job tickets, bills of material, work instructions, approved samples, inspection plans, and customer requirements.

ยท Verify the correct product, version, language, SKU, component, quantity, label, carton, and packaging material are being used.

ยท Inspect products for damage, missing components, incorrect assembly, poor workmanship, mixed materials, and other defects.

ยท Verify kit counts, carton quantities, pallet quantities, and other required product counts.

ยท Review and approve first-off samples, in-process samples, production retains, and final samples.

ยท Perform final inspections of completed kits, cartons, pallets, and finished goods before release or shipment.

ยท Help with product sorting, recounting, inspection, rework, and containment activities when assigned.

ยท Accurately document inspection results, quantities, defects, holds, approvals, and releases in QT9, Monarch, inspection forms, or other approved systems.

ยท Report missing product, incorrect counts, damaged materials, mixed products, unidentified materials, or other security concerns immediately.

ยท Protect customer-owned products, secure materials, samples, specifications, and confidential information.

ยท Follow all secure-product handling, restricted-access, inventory-control, visitor-control, and confidentiality requirements.

ยท Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and secure work area.

ยท Follow all company quality procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and customer-specific requirements.

ยท Complete required quality, safety, and security training.

ยท Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Education and Experience

ยท Place suspect product, cartons, components, or pallets on quality hold.

ยท Request that a fulfillment line pause when continued production could create additional defects or incorrect product.

ยท Withhold inspection approval when product does not meet documented requirements.

ยท Escalate quality, quantity, traceability, inventory, or security concerns to the Quality Supervisor or management.

Final product disposition and release decisions must follow JohnsByrne procedures and management authority.

9. Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

The Quality Assurance Inspector may assist with or help coordinate product sorting, recounting, rework, or 100% inspection activities when assigned.
