Position Overview

The Field Engineer will support the Project Management and Operations team to support daily work activities. The Field Engineer will interact with the client on changes and questions to ensure clear communication.


Essential Functions

  • In addition to quality, continually ensuring all employees follow health and safety regulations while monitoring operations to promote the wellbeing of the whole team.
  • Coordinate work of subcontractors and host while onsite.
  • Validate field measured quantities in alignment with project progress.
  • Confirm that materials, tools and supplies necessary for daily work meet contract and design specifications.
  • Build work plans and procedures on job tasks.
  • Plan subtasks and lead meetings to cover upcoming work with Operations team and client.
  • Review as-built drawings and communicate changes as needed.
  • Oversee calibration schedule for equipment/tools. Coordinate with Logistics team to send out tools or schedule onsite calibration as needed.
  • Supports Quality Assurance, Superintendents and Foreman on questions and issues in the field.
  • Works with Procurement/Logistics team to assure acceptable incoming quality and delivery.
  • Partners with Quality Manager to perform root cause analysis to help resolve quality issues.
  • Send Request for Information (RFIs) to client.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience on renewable energy projects preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Outlook, and related software programs. Knowledge of Procore and Auto CAD desired.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of BUILD Renewables’ personnel, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Must be self-motivated with an intense sense of urgency.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Working Conditions

  • 100% travel required. Projects are nationally based.
  • Construction Site Environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
  • Office Environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping, and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposure to all forms of weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry, humid, windy) for the entire workday.

Location: Various U.S. Project Sites (Travel Required)

Full Time - Exempt Position

Position requires working hours in excess of 40 hours per week based on operational needs. A rotation schedule is implemented to help offset additional hours.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 - DOE
