  • Auditing new items upon arrival, including physical appearance, packaging integrity, and functional checks.
  • Providing guidance on acceptable quality ranges across all product categories.
  • Being present and engaged during key receiving periods and quality escalations.
  • Managing supplier credits for damages upon receipt and determine appropriate factory compensation for quality defects.

Quality Issue Management
  • Handling quality decisions as they arise and manage Wrike ticketing and timelines for all quality issues.

Product Testing
  • Determining which products require testing upon arrival or prior to sale.
  • Conducting or overseeing product testing including: water tightness, candle tip, weight-bearing, food safety, and weights/measures per Sales team requests.
  • Managing retest reviews, maintaining testing records, and managing testing costs.
  • Managing relationships with third-party testing partners (e.g., Intertek).

Legal & Regulatory Compliance
  • Owning Prop 65 testing coordination and ongoing management - including tracking product compliance, managing test schedules, and maintaining documentation.
  • Managing copyright determinations and ongoing compliance for applicable products.
  • Conducting commodity-specific regulatory reviews for new and existing product lines.
  • Performing regulatory risk assessments for new materials and collections.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serving as the primary quality liaison between internal teams (Merchandising, Product Development, International, Finance) and external factory partners.
  • Coordinating inbound execution alignment with logistics, finance, and product teams to ensure shipments are accurate, compliant, and on schedule.
  • Communicating product usage intent to internal teams and testing partners.
