MMI Industrial & Steel is thrilled to announce an opening for the position of Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager. This pivotal role is designed for a dedicated and technically skilled individual who is passionate about upholding the highest quality standards in industrial construction. As a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager at MMI Industrial & Steel, you will assume full-time responsibilities in a hands-on, field-based setting. Please note, this is not a remote job and will require presence on-site to manage and oversee project quality effectively.

The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing our comprehensive quality protocols across various high-stakes projects. These projects typically involve complex industrial, semiconductor, data center, and high-tech construction initiatives. The successful candidate will bring expertise and a meticulous approach to ensure all work aligns impeccably with our company standards, contractual obligations, relevant codes, and client expectations.

Responsibilities 

Develop, tailor, and oversee the implementation of project-specific QA/QC plans and procedures.

  • Lead the coordination and execution of inspection protocols across all stages of the project to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage and direct project teams, subcontractors, and QA/QC personnel towards achieving contractual quality requirements.
  • Organize and guide quality assurance planning meetings, promoting proactive engagement among diverse project stakeholders.
  • Ensure all inspection and testing activities are conducted in accordance with established standards and project schedules.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on quality performance metrics, instituting necessary corrective actions to remedy any deviations.
  • Facilitate robust documentation processes, ensuring all quality records and reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory demands.
  • Act as the primary company representative in quality matters during client interactions, audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies, identifying opportunities to enhance quality outcomes across projects.
  • Empower and mentor QA/QC team members through organized training sessions, fostering a culture of quality and precision.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5-10 years of proven experience in a QA/QC role within the industrial or high-tech construction sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills and prior experience managing quality assurance teams and complex projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems, relevant construction standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in key software such as Procore, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exemplary communication skills, capable of effectively articulating quality standards and expectations to multiple stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all areas of responsibility including inspections, documentation, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred additional qualifications: CWI, CQC, OSHA, or similar certifications.
  • Experience in fostering continuous improvement and leading root cause analysis within quality-focused initiatives.
