Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Department. This position is responsible for monitoring product quality and food safety throughout the manufacturing process by conducting laboratory testing, collecting production samples, verifying regulatory compliance, and ensuring all products meet established quality specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience working in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine product sampling and laboratory analysis on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Perform quality evaluation of incoming raw materials, including testing, inspection, and monitoring of bulk concentrate and sweetener deliveries to verify compliance with quality, food safety, and traceability requirements.
- Conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological testing according to established procedures.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Direct quality-related activities of personnel during batching, pasteurization, and production operations to ensure compliance with product specifications, food safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate HACCP program compliance and documentation.
- Verify adherence to GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety standards.
- Evaluate product specifications including Brix, acidity, pH, fill levels, sensory characteristics, and other quality attributes.
- Calculate batch adjustments and communicate corrective actions to personnel when necessary.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and testing documentation.
- Assist with ingredient inventory verification and reconciliation to ensure accurate inventory records and material traceability.
- Participate in microbiological sampling, testing, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Support internal audits and regulatory inspections.
- Assist with sanitation verification and quality improvement initiatives.
- Investigate quality concerns and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related Life Science field.
- 1-2 years previous quality control, quality assurance, laboratory, or food manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety programs.
- Experience performing laboratory testing and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- HACCP certification is a plus.
- Beverage industry experience is a plus.
