CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

Essential
  • Perform Q.A. inspections including first article, in process, receiving, roving and final as needed, keeping internal customer service a priority
  • Complete inspection reports and other documentation as required by customers and internal procedures
  • Review and process shop routers
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in floor inspection activities
  • Keep records updated, accurate and organized
  • Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual, and Procedure Level documentation
  • Participate actively and positively in Lean activities

REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager

WORKS WITH: Customers, suppliers, and B&J team members

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by B&J Industries

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Essential

  • Minimum one year inspection experience in a precision sheet metal and/or machining environment
  • Good math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Good ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Good computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Good communications skills, verbal and written
  • Strong ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring devices
  • Strong attention to detail
Beneficial
  • High school graduate with some college preferred (emphasis in engineering, math or related field)
  • Additional math skills in algebra, geometry and trigonometry
  • Good flat pattern layout ability
  • Knowledge of ISO requirements
  • Experience in precision sheet metal production work
  • Knowledge of machining processes and inspection
  • Computer skilled in the use of CAD systems, Word and Excel, Solid Works

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Sit 20%, Stand 20%, Walk 20%, Bend 10%, Squat 5%, Lift 5%, Twist 5%, Kneel 5%, Reach Above Shoulder 5%, Climb 5%.

Maximum (minutes): Sit 30, Stand 240, Walk 20, Bend 20, Squat 15, Lift 5, Twist 30, Kneel 10, Reach Above Shoulder 5, Climb 5.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).

Working Environment: Shop environment. Moderate noise level. Exposure to dust, heat and cold.

This position will require drug testing per company policy.
