Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring QA Specialist in Meridian, MS. The QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring all network cabling installations at a major hyperscale site in Meridian, MS, meet rigorous industry standards and client specifications. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in fiber and copper cabling, a strong background in quality inspections, and the ability to maintain high standards of workmanship across a long-term, multi-year project.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $36 to $48 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed QA/QC inspections of network cabling projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Perform regular job site inspections to verify project scopes, including the appropriate use of materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to cabling crews to maintain high-quality installation practices.
  • Identify, document, and report any deviations from project specifications or industry standards to project management.
  • Execute pre- and post-installation quality checks to validate cable connections, terminations, and overall system performance.
  • Develop and implement standardized quality control procedures, guidelines, and checklists for the project.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all inspections, deficiencies, and corrective actions taken.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders regarding quality concerns and progress updates.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure quality benchmarks are met during accelerated work schedules.
  • Resolve site-level defects or deficiencies through coordination with field teams and project managers.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in network cabling installations, specifically including fiber and copper.
  • Deep understanding of industry standards such as TIA/EIA and BICSI.
  • Proficiency with cable testing tools and project documentation software.
  • Ability to work a demanding schedule of 50 to 60 hours per week, including potential six-day work weeks.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex technical specifications.
  • Experience working on large-scale industrial or data center construction sites.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work (5) to (6) 10-hour days per week in an active construction environment.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and setup equipment or ladders weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods across a large-scale job site.
  • Ability to work in all weather elements, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers for technical inspections and documentation.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hats and safety glasses, at all times.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $36 to $48 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
