Faulk & Winkler is hiring an Assurance Manager with an interest in the governmental sector to join our growing team and help support the delivery of governmental audit engagements and lead the audit team in delivering high quality service.

As an Assurance Manager at Faulk & Winkler, you will play a key role in supporting assurance services by overseeing client onboarding, engagement coordination, and operational workflows. You will serve as a central point of coordination between prospective clients, existing clients, and internal assurance teams to ensure engagements are delivered efficiently, consistently, and with care.

  • Lead Governmental Audit and Assurance Engagements
    You will plan, manage, and oversee audit and assurance engagements for governmental entities, ensuring compliance with applicable auditing standards, Government Auditing Standards, Uniform Guidance requirements, and other relevant regulations. You will coordinate engagement activities, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality service delivery while meeting client and firm expectations.
  • Oversee Engagement Execution and Quality
    You will direct the execution of audit procedures, review workpapers and deliverables, assess engagement risks, and resolve complex accounting and auditing matters. You will provide guidance to engagement teams, ensure adherence to professional standards, and maintain the quality and efficiency of engagements from planning through completion.
  • Manage Client Relationships and Serve as a Trusted Advisor
    You will develop and maintain strong relationships with governmental clients, serving as a primary point of contact throughout the engagement process. You will provide proactive guidance, communicate findings and recommendations, help clients navigate operational and regulatory challenges, and support them in achieving their strategic and financial objectives.
  • Develop and Mentor Team Members
    You will supervise, coach, and mentor staff and senior associates, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. You will foster a collaborative team environment and support the growth of future leaders within the governmental assurance practice.
  • Support Practice Growth and Business Development

About You!

  • You are a driven, motivated Assurance Manager. You bring 8-10 years of public accounting experience or relevant internship experience to the table.
  • You have a bachelorโ€™s degree and a CPA license. A Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Accounting is required as well as an active CPA license.
  • You have an interest in governmental accounting and assurance services. You have desire to partner with local governments and community organizations to help them navigate challenges, strengthen operations, and achieve their goals.
